Awards

Virginia Governor's Cup 2 awards

Virginia’s official state wine competition, run by the Virginia Wineries Association since 1982. Wines are judged blind and must score 90 or higher on a 100-point scale to take gold. The twelve highest-scoring wines form the Governor’s Cup Case, and one of those is named Cup winner.

2026 results

• Silver 2020 Chardonnay
• Silver 2023 Petit Verdot

A medal is awarded to a specific wine and vintage, not to the winery — the vintage is shown with each entry. Only the competitions listed above are covered; a winery may hold awards from competitions this guide does not yet include.

Hours and tasting fees change with the season — confirm on their site or call before you go. New to winery days out? See planning your visit.
