Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people use the guide — which wineries and pages get read, roughly which region visitors come from, and how people move around the site. To do that it sets cookies or similar identifiers in your browser.

We look at this in aggregate to decide what to write next and what to fix. We don't use it to identify you personally, we don't run advertising on this site, and we don't sell or share it for advertising.

You can opt out at any time using your browser's cookie controls, or with Google's official Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Everything on this site works exactly the same if you do.

When you send us something

If you use the correction or feedback forms, what you type is sent to a server we own and run, and it reaches us as an email. We use it to fix the guide and, if you left an address, to reply. We don't add you to a mailing list — there isn't one.

Things that stay in your browser

Your saved trip, your wine passport, and your colour and theme preferences are stored in your own browser's local storage. That data never leaves your device — we can't see it, and it isn't sent anywhere. Clearing your browser storage deletes it, and that's the only copy.

Who else is involved

• Google — website analytics (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager).
• Cloudflare — runs the server that receives the forms.
• GitHub — hosts the site's pages.

Children

This is a guide to wineries, intended for adults of legal drinking age. It isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
